Centre for Gender Studies and Development

Centre's Mandate

Promoting gender equality through gender mainstreaming in rural development and awareness and capacity building on gender issues among the professionals, elected representatives and civil society organisations working in rural development.

Objectives

  • To identify gender based priorities and mainstreaming gender in different sectors of rural development.
  • Promoting gender as a priority concern in development planning and implementation.
  • Development of knowledge hub in gender related areas to facilitate training, research activities and advocacy.
  • To undertake studies related to livelihoods, women empowerment and various other areas through gender lens.
